83 Money Moves to Make Before You’re 30

Thanks go out to the good folks at Consumerist for posting a link to this article and for all that they do every day.  Smart money blog Own the Dollar has posted a list of 83 Money Moves to Make Before You’re 30.  I’m 28 now, so I’ve got less than 2 years to work on these.  In reality, it’s a great read for anyone that is looking to be smarter with their money.

Below is a list of five of the items that I’m planning on doing this year, and a few of them may seem vaguely familiar:

2. Pay off your credit cards and other consumer debt

14. If you are going to use a CFP, find one you trust (TLF note: Or become one, like I’m studying to do!)

34. Have three to six months of expenses in an emergency fund

40. Consider earning a greater rate of return on savings with Peer-to-Peer Lending companies such as Lending Club or Prosper.

77. Open a 529 college savings plan for your children when they are born
